The brightness icon and bars show up on the screen and go up and down, but the screen brightness itself doesnt change. After that replacement, Ive never been able to change my brightness because the new screens (got it changed twice because of that) EDID are not listed in the BIOS. Open the Control Panel, select 'Hardware and Sound,' and select 'Power Options.' You'll see a 'Screen brightness' slider at the bottom of the Power. If you're using Windows 7 or 8, and don't have a Settings app, this option available in the Control Panel. The fn-control keys used to work perfectly for brightness, but ever since I updated to Windows 7, they dont work anymore. I have a ThinkPad T450 that I use for work that had to have the screen replaced because I broke it accidentally (bag dropped out my hand onto the road). Click or tap and drag the 'Adjust brightness level' slider to change the brightness level. Is this correct? Could instead be a problem not related to drivers? I have a lenovo thinkpad laptop that I got with Vista. Right Click the monitor shown (it was PnP-Monitor (Standard) for me) Click Update Driver. At this point I guess it could be a driver problem. I resolved this issue on Windby changing the monitor driver from PnP-Monitor (Standard) to Generic PnP Monitor: Right Click the Windows Start Menu icon. I have updated drivers, and have reinstalled the latest intel driver GFXWIN101.343101. If I enter the BIOS, also here the two arrows won't work. Solved - Caused by drivers Brightness control not working on Windows 11 Community Support. I also tried to run Xubuntu on a live USB, and also there I found the same two problems. I've already tried to re-install Windows 7 Ultimate with no success. How to proceed in order to fix these problems. I don't have a deep understanding of the computer architecture, so my question is
